Love this Face Powder !! – I have used soo many different face powers even expensive brands and I always come back to this on one. It does run a little dark in color. even though I am a medium shade in makeup I always use in this powder the light/medium shade and it’s perfect !!! After I apply it I take a soft bath rag and lightly go over my face. It works for me always ! And I always apply it with a powder buff I have found that to work best instead of a brush. But this is what works for me always !

Better than Clinique!!! :-)) – I Love Almay Smart Shade!! I am the light/medium shade. I have very dark eyes and hair with skin that is light and I have always had a problem finding my “perfect shade”. I also have oily and acne-prone skin. I have used clinique since I was a freshman in college (I am a 2nd year graduate student now). However, even with Clinique, my skin would soon look oily and sometimes, I would get a pimple after wearing it all day. I had given up hope of finding a make-up that not only covered well, but also helped to control oil in my T-zone. That was until my sister (we are twins, but I have always considered her to be the pretty one…lol) told me about Almay smart shade, which she also loves. I must say that this product is A MIRACLE!!!! Not only does it control oil, cover acne and acne-marks, but it also matches my skin tone exactly so that it appears as if I am not wearing any make-up at all!!!!!! I no longer have that awful “foundation mask”!!! If you are thinking about buying this prduct, please do!! I have searched for this for a long time and I really think this will be the last make-up I will ever use, one time and I was hooked! My mother even told me the first time I wore it that my skin had never looked better (thanks mom!) 🙂 Thank you Almay smart shade!!! This make-up makes me feel pretty and gives me my self-confidence back 🙂

great product but…go a shade darker – This powder was more on the light side than the medium. I normally buy light/medium cosmetics and have really good results but this powder was so light that it didn’t match my skin tone very well so my face appeared pale compared to the rest of my body. I would recommend choosing a shade darker than you normally buy with other products. That being said, I actually loved this powder as a whole. I applied it over my foundation using the brush it comes with but preferred how it looked applying it with a makeup sponge. It blends well onto your face and looks very natural. I have combination oily/dry skin and loved how well it kept oily shine from setting in without making my face feel dry! It has an amazing lasting power so I didn’t need to reapply and as mentioned, it kept my oily chin and T-zone dry and shine free and I didn’t need to blot those areas during the day like I typically have to do with most other pressed powders. Love this product..just need to buy it in a darker shade than I typically do with other companies cosmetics.

An alternative to more expensive brands! – I’ve been in the market for something that could replace my Clinique Stay Matte pressed powder in Invisible Matte (i.e. translucent) for a while now. I’m tired of paying nearly $30 (with shipping) for something that doesn’t seem to last very long and which, at my age, has begun settling into my wrinkles. I also wanted something that was more of an actual translucent shade, i.e. that didn’t really impart any of its own color, but just worked to set my foundation and stave off shine.
