This Oil-Free Foundation gives you beautiful coverage with a super lightweight feel. Great for anyone with hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and oily skin types. For dry skin types, we recommend mixing a few pumps of our Perfect Moisture Serum into the bottle for a more hydrating foundation.
APPLICATION: For high coverage: Use a dime-size drop of the Perfecta Base Foundation and apply to one area at a time using a CARA sponge or Kabuki Brush. Pat the area with our foundation to camouflage post-surgery redness/scars. For sheer coverage: Mix the foundation with a drop of Perfect Moisture Serum and apply with a damp sponge.

Easy to blend, good coverage – I was happy to see this brand has a yellow undertone foundation. To me, this is pretty matte when used alone without the recommended moisturizer/serum added. I like the coverage, I’d say it’s light to medium. Only thing I have a problem with is the shade range, as much as I like that there’s a shade that matches my lighter skin tone. There should be many more medium to deep shades to choose from. Maybe a more inclusive range is something CARA is working on though. But overall I am really liking the product!

Buildable coverage, but feels drying – I don’t normally wear liquid foundation, so I’m not used to the thick texture on my skin. It blends in well and i think the color match is pretty spot on. The coverage is medium, but buildable. It covers up blemishes pretty well. I do like that it’s oil free so it shouldn’t clog pores, but it does feel very drying on your skin.

Heavy – This foundation is a good color match to my skin tone and blended well. That said, it was thick and difficult to apply for full coverage. Once on it was heavy and cakey, especially after setting it with powder, and it accentuated my dry, flakey skin. It does provide good coverage and might work better for someone with normal skin.

Full Coverage but heavy – I do like that it is a more water based foundation, and it does have a full coverage to it. When applying it was thick and had a sticky feeling. It is heavy feeling on the skin. I noticed it does settle in pores as the day progresses, and a bit of shine as well. I did apply setting powder mid day to help combat some shine, one photo shows right after application on way to work( hair down) and the second is right at 5 pm that same day. The shade was a bit lighter than I had anticipated, but that could be due to computer screen coloring. Next time I would pick a shade darker. There is a good bit of product in the container, and feel this will last a long time. I think if I apply less foundation it will not be as heavy feeling. I will update my review if I do notice any changes by doing different application techniques

Very thick foundation – I normally use Clinique Acne Solutions Fresh Ivory but thought I would give this a try. This color, Olive Yellow Lightest, is very similar in color, but perhaps a tad lighter. See photo: Left Side = this product; Right Side = Clinique Fresh Ivory. I’ve never used a foundation with an applicator like this. I find I have to really wipe off the applicator on the bottle before applying it to my brush or I end up with way too much on my brush. This is a very thick product–too thick, in my opinion. If I apply just a little to a brush, I can get pretty good results, but the second too much goes on the brush, I feel like it just cakes onto my face. In fact, a heavy hand on my forehead had my bangs actually sticking to the foundation. Once on, it feels okay, but when I touch my face, I can definitely feel the heaviness of this compared to the lightness of Clinique (I actually used one on each side of my face). However, it is still on the better side of most products…as long as it is applied lightly. Coverage was good, from a “cover up” perspective and looked pretty natural when applied lightly. I will be adding water to mine to thin out the product and hope that this will help, as it is simply too thick as is. Since you need so little, I think the bottle will last longer than other products.
