Dramatic color, very moisturizing, great stain – I bought the balm stain in Crush and it is mostly what I expected. The balm is a thick formula, similar to a lipstick but moisturizing. The stain is aspect is great, I put the balm on and four hours later, the color was still there even after eating and drinking. I was expecting a more opaque color but it is a dark red/purple color. Very dramatic. I love it though. The amount of product you put on in layers definitely makes a difference. Interestingly enough, as the product wears off, the stain lightens to dark pink shade and gradually lightens as time goes on. I paired the balm with ELF lip oil in Berry Kiss. The lip oil is a rich purple/red shade and it makes the balm darker with a shine. I love this pairing and the color. Might need makeup remover to fully remove the stain though. Some people have made comments about the tingling sensation of the balm. I noticed the tingling but it only lasts about a minute after application and it wasn’t painful. The nice peppermint smell also wears off quickly. The smell is slightly overpowering when you first open it but it wears off quickly.

What a great product! – My favorite lip cover–I love using balm stain as it just adds color and a little shine to my lips. This is all I use in the lipstick department. I can put it on without a mirror as it has a pencil shape and very forgiving. I wish they had more colors! Simple if you aren’t into spending lots of time on makeup.

Color not quite what I expected – The description says color is Crush but I received Romantic. The color is a bit lighter shade than Crush Begun but it worked ok so I’m keeping it. It’s more of a strawberry color, but lipsticks react differently on different people. This is a very long-lasting lip stain which is why I like it. Not moisturizing but not drying either. Can no longer find it in the stores, so I’m sure this is older inventory.

Nope. – Sorry, I wanted to like this. I picked the closest color to my normal lipstick but it was too red/pink. I might have tried another color but within 2 hours the color in the middle of my lips was gone. The only good thing about it was it does not run outside the lip line like lipstick. Us older gals have a problem with that. Frankly, a little beet juice from a fresh beet is much better.
